PK
There were many controversies about Aamir Khan and Anushka Sharma’s film ‘PK’. The film, released in 2014, was accused of creating misconceptions about religion. Several organizations had also burnt posters of the film. People said that through this film, an attempt was made to insult the Gods and Goddesses.
Padmavat
Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film ‘Padmavat’ had a nationwide protest. The film, starring Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor, led to protests over the film alleging misuse of facts. This protest had increased so much that the matter reached the Supreme Court.
Black Friday
The film ‘Black Friday’ on the 1993 Mumbai serial bomb blasts was based on a book ‘Black Friday: The True Story of the Bombay Bomb Blast’ by Hussain Zaidi. The film mentions the events that led to the blasts and subsequent police investigation. The film, made in 2004, was directed by Anurag Kashyap.
Oh My GOD
The film was favored for correctly presenting religious beliefs and its status. However, Hinduist organizations had protested against the film saying that the film hurt the sentiments of Hindus.
The Dirty Picture
This film, made on the life of Silk Smita, came into controversy due to its poster. At the same time, the brother of South Indian actress Silk Smita sent a court notice to the film directors about which this film got mired in controversies.
